CENTRAL Visayas has reached the one million mark on the number of vaccine doses administered as of August 12, 2021.
Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, spokesperson of the Visayas Vaccination Operation Center (VVOC), said a total of 1,012,996 doses were administered in the region.
Of the total, 615,926 doses were administered as first dose and 397,070 as second dose.
“We look forward that in the next milestone on the one million for the first dose and one million for the fully vaccinated individuals,” Loreche said.
Cebu City administered a total of 180,720 as first dose and 135,681 as second dose, while Mandaue City has given 123,341 for first dose and 65,862 for second dose.
Lapu-Lapu City has administered 112,611 for first dose and 47,811 for second dose.
Cebu Province, meanwhile, has administered a total of 199,254 as first dose and 147,716 as second dose.
In Bohol, 78,061 doses were given for first dose and 77,286 for second dose. Negros Oriental administered a total of 76,162 for first dose and 88,137 for second dose, while Siquijor had 20,996 for first dose and 24,927 for second dose.
As of August 8, the VVOC received a total of 1,196,840 Sinovac, 364,560 Astrazeneca, 345,150 Pfizer, 10,700 Gamaleya, and 208,900 Janssen vaccines.
Loreche said a total of 102,960 doses of Pfizer vaccines have arrived Thursday, August 12, of which 42,120 doses will be distributed in Metro Cebu.
Loreche advised those who received Sputnik vaccines for the first dose to wait for their second dose.
She assured that in case Gamaleya will be out of supply in the country, vaccinees might receive another brand for their second dose. However, it is yet to be studied by the National Government and the technical experts.
“Yung mga nabigyan ng Gamaleya o Sputnik, wala pa po yung inyong for second dose, wag po kayong mag-alala kung due na po ang inyong second dose, you can still receive your second dose beyond your schedule interval day, mahahabol po natin yan within three months pero di po natin paabutin ng three months,” Loreche said.
Meanwhile, Loreche said that Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Sinovac have the same shelf life of six months, Gamaleya has three months, Moderna has seven months, Covaxin one month, and Sinopharm has the longest shelf life of 24 months. (MVE)
